Teller and the Tale Radio Shows

Since the summer of 2013, I've recorded fifteen episodes of the popular storytelling radio show The Teller and the Tale. Each episode features a storyteller from Scotland. We learn a little about their lives, listen to a story that they bring to the show, and talk about their passion for storytelling and its importance in the world today.

The shows are broadcast by Blues and Roots Radio, an Internet radio station based near Toronto in Canada. It's owned by Stevie and Anne Connor. Stevie originally comes from Scotland and loves all things Celtic. He and Anne are great promoters of Celtic folk, trad, blues, singer-songwriter music in Ontario Canada. Stevie is also a wonderful piper. Each show gets an airing three times a week -- Sunday at 7am (EST Canada/US) and 12noon (UK), Tuesday at 8pm (EST) and 1am (Wed in UK) and finally on Friday at 4pm (EST) and 9pm (UK).

While our listeners are mainly based in the US, Canada and the UK, we've had folk contact us from as far away as India, Australia and even a tiny island in the South Pacific!

For a limited time several shows are available to listen to again on my blog (michaelwilliamsstoryteller.blogspot.com). Simply click on the 'Radio' link, scroll down the page to the player and enjoy a half-hour of storytelling from some of Scotland's best storytellers.

NEWS: Stay tuned for new shows featuring world-class storytellers from Scotland and beyond, including the US, Canada, India, Australia and elsewhere. It has been lovely to work with you. . . . We are hopeful this project will give rise to future storytelling endeavours, and would be very happy to work with you again if the opportunity arises!" Muireann Crowley, At Home in Scotland, University of Edinburgh, May 2014 ("Storytelling, Research and Public Engagement" workshop)
